I've been listening to a lot of U2 lately. I've come to the conclusion that 'How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb' is my favorite U2 album. I've also been listening to The Beatles a lot. :) Great music from one of the greatest bands ever.

BENNETT, Colo. - Some parents in this prairie town are angry with an elementary school music teacher for showing pupils a video about the opera "Faust," whose title character sells his soul to the devil in exchange for being young again.

"Any adult with common sense would not think that video was appropriate for a young person to see. I'm not sure it's appropriate for a high school student," Robby Warner said after two of her children saw the video.

Another parent, Casey Goodwin, said, "I think it glorifies Satan in some way."

Ok...I agree that the subject matter may be mature for younger children, but seriously...what a bunch of idiots. Another example of a group of conservatives jumping to conclusions, and just being ignorant. Don't get me wrong...I'm not accusing all conservatives of this, but shit...some people...

'Crazy Conservative Christian mouthpiece Pat Robertson is at it again. Earlier this year he called for an assassination of a world leader, now he's condemning Dover, Pennsylvania to the End of Days.

Here's what Robertson spouted on his 700 Club Television Program (via Reuters):
"I'd like to say to the good citizens of Dover: if there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God, you just rejected Him from your city," Robertson said.

"And don't wonder why He hasn't helped you when problems begin, if they begin. I'm not saying they will, but if they do, just remember, you just voted God out of your city. And if that's the case, don't ask for His help because he might not be there," he said.'

Fall classes

Well, I just registered for my fall quarter classes, and I'll tell you what...What a pain in the ass that was. Well, everything turned out well though. And here's my schedule.

Music 126 (Theory) - MWF 8-9
Music 264A (Flute/Single Reed Pedagogy) - MWF 9-10
Linguistics 201 - MWF 10-11:20
Environmental Science 101 - MWF 12-1
Aural and Ear Training - TR 8-10
Wind Symphony TR 2-4

I think this will be a good start to the year. Different kind of schedule than I'm used to. Not used to having all my classes in one block. But I can't afford to have them spread out this year...gotta work and have a social life and all that cal. But yeah, I'm moving to Bellingham today...sweeeeeet.
